How long will it take to arrange an appointment
with The Mortgage Spot?
We will endeavour to accommodate you within 24
hours of your request. We are open Monday to Friday 9
am - 5.45 pm, also evenings and Saturday 9 am -1 pm.
How long does the first appointment take?
Generally an hour to discuss affordability, costs,
and also various interest rate types.
Will you be able to tell me how much I can
borrow and over what term I should borrow?
Yes, we will analyse affordability and based
on the various lender's criteria we will advise you how
much you can borrow, how much you can afford and over
what term you could/should borrow.
How long does the actual mortgage application
process take?
Generally one hour and it is important that all
the relevant documentation is brought along to this appointment
as requested in first appointment.
How long will it take to find out if I can
get the mortgage I need?
With some lenders an Agreement in Principle will
be available within 24 hours. This will be subject to
your property’s valuation being confirmed and verification
of your status.
How long does an offer take to come through?
If all the relevant documentation has been submitted
to the Bank or Building Society concerned the process
is generally very prompt and can take anything from 10
days to two weeks.
How long does the whole process take from
submission of mortgage application to completion with
Solicitors?
Generally 8 weeks. If all the documentation is
submitted either to the bank, building society or Solicitor
when requested then there should be no problem meeting
this timescale and slightly earlier is possible.
Do you advise on protection needs?
Yes, as we are tied to Legal & General for
this purpose and we will advise you as to the forms of
protection you should consider to help protect your home
and family. For insurance business, we offer policies
exclusively from Legal & General.
